Great but how do I rig up my Windows 7 system so that I do not have to manually enter "PATH" and "CLASSPATH" every single time I want to run a Java-based program?

I do not understand why such a simple problem seems to be so complicated for people to explain. I have looked and looked for a simple "Do '1, ' '2, ' '3, ' and you are done".

Is there some reason why folks have to make this convoluted? It does not strike me as all that complicated.

where did that environment variables come from? PLZ

Just make a new Env. called PATH and then type in cmd C:\Program Files\Java\(depends on your version)\bin"
