Near as I can figure, the cooldown is only triggered when someone *asks* to move out and then does so. I had a campsite villager come in and replace someone, and the next day I had a villager asking to move.

PSA: The cooldown only starts once you have talked to the resident who wants to move. Once someone has the thought bubble, talk to them to confirm that is what they are thinking about and then immediately restart the game without saving. Go back in and do NOT talk to the villager. Because of the formula, each new day will randomly select a different villager. Keep skipping days (or you can just wait) until it lands on the one you want gone. Then go talk to them and the cooldown will be back on. You're welcome.

Just a reminder that you can cheat the 5 day cooldown. The cooldown won't activate if you do not talk to the villager wanting to move out.

For exampme if you want to move out Fauna but want to keep Frobert and Frobert asks to move, just close the game without saving. Fauna can ask to move the next day if you didn't trigger a conversation with the villager that has a thought bubble the previous day.

I've got Lucha... Hated him from the start lol stayed at my campsite for 4 days never left. When I talked to him all I could ask him was to move in 🤦🏻‍♀️
