I had Jeff open my old late 1890's Mosler safe around the mid 90's. He tried to manipulate the dial for almost two hours but couldn't get the last tumbler, thinking it to be a four number combo. He did end-up drilling the door to open the safe. He refused to charge me for the two hours & actually felt bad that he couldn't manipulate the dial. He was a true pro & one hell of a guy. They broke the mold when they made Jeff. He explained the competition event to me & if I have it right, You pick or are given a number of safes @ random & you have to open each one by hand against a clock. Or it could be just the dial & tumblers, but the tumblers are sealed from your view, so all you see is the dial. A true Genius!

Jeff helped me with my safe and fortunately mine was the 5% one he has to drill to get it open. He was a great human being and I'm honored that I have met him in person. Rest in peace Jeff.

I have literally just today found out about this guy and then discovered that he recently died. I love his attitude because he just believed he could open any safe. He really shows what humans can do when they want to do it. I believe anyone could do what he did just by practice. He just tuned and tuned the sensitivity level in his hands so much that he could detect the lightest touch when he turned the dial. You could tell that he loved what he did and it was quite heartening to see this - he just did what he loved to do and became the best of the best at it. I watched a video of him cracking a big bank safe and you could just tell that he was loving it and he was quite emotional at the end of it. You could see what it meant to him. Just a genuine bloke doing a great job and getting the recognition he deserved.

I remembered that Discovery show that mentioned how good Jeff is, so good he can crack pretty much anything out there, even military safes. It's epic to see him still talking about his extraordinary feats. He's no Average Joe, he's more like a superhuman thanks to his sensitive fingers. It takes years of practices and experience to be able to get there.
