You can try putting a cube of ice on them in the a.m. and again in the p.m., for about a month to trick them. I have done it when I lived in the extreme heat, and it worked great, so I am pretty sure work for these too! I had to put ice cubes on my plants for the whole summer.

I do the same, everything that sprouts indoors, I plant it outside. Even though I don't know the variety, I offer them a second Life. And yeh it's much more expensive when you buy things ready to plants. Have a nice day

you do not need to bury the shallots. grow them like onions. push them into the ground about half way down. check them because when the roots start to grow they push the shallot over until the roots take hold.
