Way I learnt to beat match was covering up the bpms. Best way to train your ears to matching beats. Just like doing it on vinyl

Using the same track can create a flanging/phasing effect. Best to use two different tracks

The first thing to getting into the decks is actually feel the music, no matter how you feel it, just feel it first, then you see the main body of it, the bass, the odd clap here and there, that annoying cymbal-thingy that does a high pitch sound, as long as they have minimal care about what's the music is built on top of, they'll start to show interest to look for more.

I attended a dj course this year. I had some experience with beatmatching but there were people without any skill at all. And their biggest problem was to beatmatch on the same track on both decks so i would not recommend trying it like this
