So sad... My husband went to high school with Melanie. She gave a concert and would always walk with a guitar on her back. As for me, being French born and now living on Melanie's territory in New Jersey, this is with this song we remember Melanie, for the French line "ils ont changé ma chanson." RIP and thank you.

I am a 22 years old girl from Turkey / İstanbul. I found an old record of her, named '' The Very Best of Melanie '', in an old second-hand book store. I was interested because the girl on the cover ( Melanie Safka) was very beautiful and we have the same NAME ! :) I brought it to home and played it right away. This is just pure talent and the voice of an angel...You are a perfect artist Melanie Safka. Thank you for joining my life 💕💕💕

This goes out to my precious Mom who passed away the other day. She always held me up and backed me. She loved all four of her kids so much and would have done anything for us. I couldn't have found a better mom if I tried. I already miss you so much. So sorry you couldn't be here today. I know St Patricks always been your favorite day of the year. You were never a beer drinking so guess I'm gonna have to find me some Irish Whiskey and will take a shot for both of us to celebrate life and our family heritage. All of my love to you. Please always stay close to me, I still need you in my life so much. Both my Mom and my best friend always. We taught each other so much but you taught me so much more than anyone else. Thank you for introducing me to the best of music. It's helped carry me through life and hopefully it will help carry me through these last remaining years of my life. It's going to be so hard without you here with me but I'll try. I love you so much Mommy. This song has always made me think of you so from me to you, hope you are still listening. ❤❤❤

Rest in peace, Mel.🕯You made a musical impression on our age. Tough to do, in a fickle industry where women were stigmatized & often dismissed.
Thanks for songs that will always remind us all of what seemed like simpler times. ♡

Sad. This woman was so talented and I've read she had a heart as big as could be. The music world lost a big name today. RIP MELANIE

I was born on March 23rd 1963 so I am now 60 years old I remember listening to Melanie on the radio when I was a little boy. I loved her songs. I had no idea that Melanie had left us. I only heard it through Johnny Walkers sounds of the Seventies programme yesterday afternoon 4th February. I was gutted and admit I had a tear in my eye. Go Bless You Melanie and may you rest in Eternal Peace.xxxx

This was my favourite song in 1970/71. I’d spent years of being sexually abused by Catholic Brothers and a Priest at a NSW Australian boarding school and under the dreadful pressure of a Mum who had Narcissistic Personality Disorder. I made the decision to leave Australia for a Government job in Australian administered Papua New Guinea. Melanie’s song voiced words that spoke to how my life (not song) had been wrecked and gave me inspiration that I could make “everything alright”. I did. It took many years, study and professionally qualified, before I reached happiness., Lived around the World but happily back in Australia now. In my 70’s now and still listening still listening to and loving Melonie’s songs! Thanks Melonie!
