This year I purchased 8” pots & saucers from hobby lobby and set them out about every 2.5 feet down the length of one of my 16’ x 4’beds. The next step is the put down a heavy mulch. I’m really hopeful this will make watering less burdensome.

Does it work to water the plants along the perimeter of the bed? Seems like only plants directly next to the pot would get watered

I used a fake, plastic whiskey barrel and put a tomato plant in it with a 4" clay pot buried. Works great. I'll use a bigger pot next year or two 4".
I used gorilla glue and a piece of rubber to seal the bottom.

Do you still use this technique? I'm working on a design that hooks up ollas to a rain catch via irrigation pipes. Before I commit, I'd love your feedback on how it ended up working

Did you plug the hole in at the bottom? How many would i need for a 8 feet by 40 inches deep raised bed? Thanks

You skipped past the picture of the inside of the pot, which has a cork inserted in the drainage hole. Otherwise, this is the type olla I made for my garden. I like the wide part of the pot at the top to avoid using silicone sealer like the other kind of olla where the lip is sealed to the bottom tray. Also easy to fill this design quickly.
