To everyone here that has one of these, take care of your transmission! I have an 03 z66 avalanche and while I absolutely love the truck the transmission has recently given out on me and i found out that it's a very common problem with the automatic 4L60E that these use. The 3-4 clutch pack went out so it only has first and second gears. And you DO NOT want to have to replace or rebuild a transmission unless you are well equipped to do it and have money to burn. So take GOOD care of your transmissions.

5.3L is a great engine and I've always had a soft spot for the Avalanche. So, unique but also very functional! Great build!

Just got a 2002 today. Well taken care of, with 143, 000 on truck and with 60, 000 on the motor. Really looking to driving this daily after my first ride home with it.

I got myself a ‘12 8-9 months ago and I absolutely love it. It fits all of my milwaukee packouts and I’m able to lock it up. I also love the ability to haul all my sheets of osb or drywall fully enclosed. I also use my truck to sleep in from time to time so I absolutely love throwing the Midgate down and being able to get some super relaxing sleep.

I just got mine 08 avalanche 3 months ago I absolutely love it has 140000 on the dash and who ever had the vehicle last took very good car of it. I can honestly say it's my baby.

Just fixed a couple things on my 06 avalanche I love it mine has 15+ years between me and my mom (previous owner)

Got mines about 6mos ago. It’s an 04 and I love it. I haven’t even started on the upgrades yet. I’m just in love with all of the comfortable room it has. I had a Camaro and being a truck driver and being up so high all day and then jumping into that Camaro and sitting so low just wasn’t working for me 😂

That's what I got. 2003 avalanche and it's a beautiful truck. If I drive it easy I'll get 123 miles to a quarter. Love my 1st gen.

I have an 05 z71 with 179k. It was un upstate NY truck for about 89k. Ive replaced the brake lines, calipers, pads and rotors, water pump, ABS module, evap system to include charcoal canister at the rear and vent solenoid. The fuel pump pumped its way out of the tank do that went too. Knock sensors have been bad since i bought it. I've just about paid as much to keep it rolling as i paid for it initially and Id do it again! Next up is a fresh engine and trans upgrade. They really don't make them like they used to.
