In this video we take a deep dive into our new whitewater-capable Skin on Frame river touring kayak. There's still a lot of work to be done, but after ten years of prototypes, I'm stoked to finally have one that paddles really good!

The thought and care that goes into Brian's kayak designs is deeply impressive. Each one is a masterpiece of its kind, and they are all embedded in the deep community wisdom of the Arctic communities. This is why I trust his build plans so much more than other vendors with 20 or 30 designs in their catalogue and using non-traditional build techniques.

For me there's nothing better than hearing and seeing the user, design, build and demonstrate what they've created. It takes away from the art but once perfected it would be cool to see it in a composite version.

I’m just a fat old lake paddler in a plastic boat, but I love thinking about what could be. My plastic boat (Pelican Escape 120) is good, but something 20# lighter will soon be better for me.

Exciting new design! River trips have always been my favorite. So many rivers here in the PNW that are mostly flatwater, but with some occasional class II rapids. Length was appropriate.

Very well thought out design. I was waiting for you to flip it over so we could see the hull shape. Great idea for water flow around the bow. I'll check the part 2 video to see if you invert it. I was curious on the amount of rocker that hull has compared to the F1. Boy your videos sure make one itching to get going on a boat. Wow, great design! This is a boat I want to build. I love my white water and want a boat that is just a capable on longer trips which always include flat watering.

Maybe change the angle enough on those cockpit lines to give the outrigger capability to your deck rigging.
