Every time I watch one of these lists my heart breaks a little bit more at the Dark Age of Software that we find ourselves in.
Perl is simply dreadful and Coffeescript is just an overrated macro preprocessor for a terrible language.
Beyond those two, every language on this list is far better than most modern trash, especially Pascal, Ada, Lisp, Haskell, and Erlang.
Objective C is much better than a bloated monstrosity like C++, which only gets worse and worse each time the committee decides to wreck it some more.
Cobol is better than almost any modern enterprise IT language for large scale batch processing of enormous business data sets.

No. The name was taken from "Ada Lovelace, " a very early theoretical practitioner of programming. It's pronounced "Ay-duh."
