Just a note for anyone who wants the best image quality, even if the rendering resolution is higher than your monitors resolution, it will still look better, for example, 4k on a 1080p screen looks better than 1080p on a 1080p screen, so even though my screen is 1080 I run games like red dead revolver at max resolution

Man, I don't remember native PS2 looking that bad. I guess I ignored its roughness because the console itself was otherwise so lit.
That and I didn't have a 4k monitor.

Thanks. I wanted to play DMC1 but the pc port has an extreme amount of visual bugs so this helps.

Some open world games look awful in high-res because of LOD distance. In Smugglers Run at 4K resolution, you will see a distinct line where the ground polygons change from a blurry smudge to full textures. It's very distracting. Lower the resolution to 720p and it's not so bad.

Forcing 4k on a native 480p game will just stretch the resolution. To really get 4k you need to get 4k textures to load into the game and possibly widescreen hacks.
- Even then, the cutscenes will always be blurry & pixelated due to being pre-rendered.

I want to know how to fix the intermittent sutter when scenes are changing (music stops for a split second and then resumes) when say.. going through a door and going to the next scene. you can even see the fps drop from 30 to 14 and then back to 30. 9900k, 2060.

Tried 4k with Burnout Takedown and it ran like sh1t unhapilly. 2k is 60fps locked. Running on a RX 570 Ryzen 3700X

4k is not needed using 1440 runs better and looks almost as good

im playing the berserk game which only works with software visual plugins for some reason, is there any way to make the game look good even without a hardware plugin?

The graphics are bad and there is a problem

Why do people always use the portable (and inferior) version of pcsx2? No use to someone like me using the full version.
