Phrygian dominant is a good mode for metal, but I’d say the double harmonic major scale and it’s modes like ultra phrygian, Hungarian minor, or even Lydian #2 #6 are probably darker which better lends itself to heavy riffage a bit more than phrygian dominant

As a rule of thumb, most scales with a b2 degree are probably going to sound pretty damn mean. I personally really like playing around with double harmonic major (1, b2, 3, 4, 5, b6, 7), phrygian bb7 (1, b2, b3, 4, 5, b6, bb7) (it's also the 7th mode of harmonic lydian) and phrygian b4 ♮6 (1, b2, b3, b4, 5, 6, b7) (the 2nd mode of Jeth's mode).

I think that, this riff needs a legatos, and bendings, also little armonics to generate better ambient ....but i liked that second part

I always use Phrygian. It's how I make really heavy riffs.

Bruhhh… you need to learn the Algerian scale. It’s much more intense than Phrygian mode.
