Thanks for this honest insight!! I’m in my last semester of a RN to BSN program and have been a nurse for 30 years. I start my DNP to become a FNP next September at the same school where I’m getting my BSN!! Luckily the school I’m attending finds our preceptors and clinical sites for us. I do have to figure out a study plan and I’m fortunate that I don’t have to work while in school. Thankfully we have a awesome librarian who is amazing at helping the nursing students with research. I’m nervous, and excited to start this journey!! Thanks for being real!!

Thank you!!!! Especially the piece on research. I decided to do msn in edu before np to tune up the research skills. The programs about a year. I just wrapped up bsn but been rn ccm for 25 years. I used same self diagnostic to figure what I need to get set up for success. I breezed through papers and it let me focus on other aspects, so I figured I'd like to not sweat higher level research skills while also mastering other NP content, too. Your words echo my suspicion so I know I'm on the right track with a boot camp approach. Plus eventually I'd like to write and maybe teach in the field. Your content overall with a few other nurse influencers has helped. The unplugged truth you dish out is priceless.
