After the positive response to my recent 7 days to die tips video I thought I'd put together a game I was known for a few years back The Forest. Here I look at beginners tips but I think I will be doing some advanced tips if this is received well.

Some of my old Forest Videos can be seen here:

1. Build a base around the plane (when you reload the game the meds and food will respawn)
2. The plane can be used as a defense
3. Make sure to keep your guard up and build defenses
4. Use stone walls against mutants
5. Always have a supply of stone arrows ready (you can mark it)
6. Skull lamps last forever
7. Go for headshots with your bow and burn cannibals to get bones
8. Put drying racks and water collectors down
9. Use large cabinets near the plane to store meds and snacks
10. Use traps next to fences
11. Always take resources with you and be efficient while farming (use pouches and rock bags to carry more).
14. Get rid of tall trees near your base. Cannibals can climb them and jump into your base.
15. Get the map
16. Never run into your base when a mutant is following you
17. Use spears to fish and put them on your drying rags
18. Use climbing ropes. Stairs can be destroyed
19. Sleep at night. Cannibals will spawn faster at night.
20. Use zip lines to travel fast

If these are beginner tips, I can’t imagine what the advanced ones would cover, or how long it takes to get there!

Is it just me that made a log cabin with my friends on the beach without a care in the world. Then thought I'd look at some tips and this came as a surprise

the first time my friends and I played the game, we found out about the getting bones from burning the bodies accidentally. The first enemy we killed, we decided to just put it on the fire for fun

I've found that building lots of birdhouses are really important! Then you can make arrows at your base from the feathers if you don't want to go to the camp to get them.

Another good tip, the same cave that the map in compass are in, there's also the modern axe deeper in the cave. I find the modern axe to be the most useful tool in the game!

I highly recommend using a spear like all the time. A weak spear is only 2 sticks and a upgraded spear is just a weal spear + 2 cloth + 3 bones. It does quick shots to the cannibals, takes down all the bushes and small trees in one shot, and hunting animals/catching fish is easier with the spear (until you get a bow). I usually carry it around when I don't know what to use. Also doesn't block a lot of your screen for those who care about that.

As you progress through your first days, scope out areas that the cannibals don't usually go. I've played through the game a few times, the first time I set up my base right in an area where the cannibals run through regularly. I stopped playing for a long time because I couldn't figure out why they kept coming right up to me on the early days. The next time I waited to set up my base and put it in a spot where they don't run through. For the first 10 days or so I was able to safely work on my base and watched the cannibals run routes near, but not towards, my base.

Honestly I think lizard armor is fine, especially early game. Save your bones in a basket for when you actually need bone armor.

Look for blueberries. You can make a pouch to carry them. If you can plant them in a garden or set your base up in an area near them, I would suggest that. They refill hunger, thirst, and energy, and you can carry a lot at a time so it's useful when you adventure and need food/water.

Boats are pretty fun, and you can make a small raft for very cheap. A house boat is generally more useful but more expensive. Boats can help you navigate parts of the map quicker and safer as the cannibals don't seem to like water.

Some people may be against this one. If you don't think it's cheating, check out the wiki and the map online. It can really help you learn how to craft and where to find the stuff you need to find. I know people think it ruins the game if you look at the map/wiki, but it's really easy to miss so much of the game if you just don't know it exists. Map also shows safe spots to make bases if that's something that interests you, although it's not too difficult to find your own.

As my teacher told me in the boy scouts. "Remember to burn the canibales on the campfire to get their bones and remove disease"

Man, playing this game with zero knowledge or experience and learning more about this game will always be my favorite experience.

This video pretty much gave me the scope of how big the game can get. Ive been playing for just about 2 days and all i had was a few things and 1 log cabin that took me a while to make. Then i see you have an entite neighborhood sized platform. Really got me excited to play and get further in the game.
