This is why false accusations are so heinous, and why liars should be punished just as harshly as actual perpetrators. The fact that people will actually lie about something that serious out of pure spite is so scary. I hope OP recovers from this and sues the girl and or her family for what they put him through.

If a daughter of mine did that I would disown her on the spot. Imagine raising someone for more than a decade, not one single inappropriate behavior with her and any of her friends, suddenly a accusation like that and all those years means nothing as a proof of character? Story 1 NTA: I was a student in a culinary school, one time after class I had to put some stuff away in the walk in freezer, and when I came out I saw a girl in my class threatening our male teacher. She told him that if he didn't give her a passing grade (she was failing) that she would report him for trying to rape her.

When he protested she remark, "nobody but us are here, who's going to believe you?"

I yelled, "I will and I heard everything".

Well between my teacher and I, she was kicked out of the school, it later came out that she threatened most of her male teachers to get passing grades, but since there were no witnesses they just passed her because they knew no one would believe them.

There need to be laws in place to hold women accountable for false SA reports. Too many men have unalived themselves (even when proven innocent), but nothing happens to the women. It's criminal

OP, Sue that ah woman for false allegations, and defamation. She stopped being a victim when she lied on an innocent man, instead of the person who "really" assaulted her? Not to mention, it could be argued that she assaulted you by trying to kiss you against your will. How do we know she isn't still lying? Is she accusing this other man of assault because she was upset that he turned her down? They can all go get bent. Do not forgive all these ahs that took the word of someone who they knew for a year over their father and husband. The BIL needs to be sued for assault. I do not know how your relationship with your daughter will survive. Do what is best for you, you owe these ahs nothing. Your ex-wife has no moral ground to lecture you on anything. S2: If ex-stepdaughter wants to be mad at someone, she needs to be mad at her mom. Her mom cheated her out of things by being a liar and a cheat. Neither dads had anything to do with that, nor did OP and her mom carried that lie to her grave. NTA for not dropping the charges. She knew that what she was doing would lead her to where it did. If she has regrets and is worried for her job, then she should have thought of that. Actions have consequences. If she loses her job, then that's on her.
