I think learning algebra from this is a lot like learning physics from Landau Lifshitz, it's impractical for most but a profound experience if you simply do not care about being frustrated with your ability to understand the concepts. On the other hand, Lang is more modern and offers fantastic examples and problems in the density of the text.
