How To Reset An AirTag (and Rename It Too!)

David and David show you how to rename and reset an AirTag.

Resetting an AirTag is important if you plan on selling or gifting it. To reset an AirTag, completely remove and reinsert the battery five times. Wait until the sound finishes before reinserting your AirTag.

You'll know your AirTag has been reset when it plays a different noise than the previous times you removed and reinserted it.

Make sure to disconnect your Apple ID from your AirTag before giving it to someone else! If you don't disconnect your Apple ID, the next person won't be able to use it.

Thanks to your other video I was able to reset one of the airtags my son had given me. I didn’t like how it worked so I gave it back good as new. And he was able to use it right away.

Fine, I subbed. Have you guys ever thought about getting random iPhone accessories of different brands and testing their quality/reviewing them? Maybe even make some "actually useful everyday iPhone accessories" type of videos. Might as well throw in "stay away from these accessories/brands" types of videos after some tests. Is it possible to reset an AirTag linked to an Apple ID after returning the phone with that Apple ID, especially if I changed employers?

Thanks! My wife got a new Iphone and the airtag would not show up on Find My app. Did the reset and now it is on the iphone again.

I love how the airtag get tracked even if far away with help of surrounded apple devices, but I hate that the sound is not as loud as one of those Tile tags. I made a test of someone sitting on it in a leather couch, and I couldn’t hear it at all.
