What Happened to Aang's Parents After his Birth? - Avatar Lore Explained
Показать описание
Avatar Avatar Aang’s long imprisonment inside of the iceberg, he travelled the world with his friends and prevented the firelord from taking control of the World and winning the hundred year war. During these travels he visited the old temples of his ancestors and came to learn a horrible fate. That he was the last of his kind… But what happened to Aang’s parents after his long stay in the iceberg and did he ever meet them while he was still there? #avatarthelastairbender #avatarthelastairbender #aang
So during the time of Aang’s child hood, we know that each of the four temples were split up by Gender. The female air nomads lived at the Eastern and Western temples while the Males lived at in the North and South ones. This meant that it was actually pretty hard for Aang to ever find his parents again, and they themselves probably never saw eachother again after creating Aang.
This leaves us with two main possibilities. The first is that the Air Nomads had a yearly or monthly tradition where the members of both the male and female temples would come together at one location and create new Air nomads… This makes sense because the Air Nomads were big on tradition and turning something like this into an yearly event could be a tradition that goes back hundreds of years.
The other possibility is that the Air Nomads from all of the temples simply roamed around and visited ones that they did not live at, giving them the chance to meet others there. They are called Air Nomads after all, so this is definitely not out of the question.
Regardless, the Air Nomads didn’t really value family bloodlines or connections of that type, as well as the children being raised by many different monks. So knowing that, I’d say the possibility that Aang ever met his parents again before the slaughter is near zero. Although we do know that Aang did travel to some of the other Air Temples in his short life before the Slaughter, so he may have actually spoken to them, but without either of them knowing that they were related. Because of how the family system worked for the nomads, this probably happened a lot to be honest.
Now this brings us to the part we all knew was coming, but didn’t want to be true… As of the current Canon we only know of one Airbender who survived the great slaughter by Fire Lord Sozin, and anyone she saw in the wild, she killed, leaving the only known airbender left Aang. This means that Aang’s parents were both likely slaughtered in the first attacks on the Temple, along with everyone else there… A very sade but exptected reality…
