Yes, Don't use facebook, same as google, youtube etc, these companies won't run without ads/profit. That's why it is free. It's like your favorite TV Station. It won't run without ads. Everything is abt business as long as they say that they are non-profit organization. Don't use internet.

there is no escape. if its not facebook its your phone, credit card, bank acc, email acc anything related to internet or technology.
to be honest, just don't be stupid posting your entire life every where.

Fraggle book has had its day, for the most, people are bored with using it.

Its way more better, than paid social media to sign up in the first place. We should just have to be way more careful in private data. And giving consent or not should be priority. But overall fb is ok today than back then when everything is paid community. Being free with ads is a tradeoff as against paid membership

most companies advertise through native advertising strategies which comes in the form of articles and so-called news where they condition you to certain companies brands products and ideas
companies pay big money therefore they have a higher level of access to Facebook than you do.

Right. This might be a stupid question, but, what else can facebook do with my data? Apart from me seeing more targeted ads, is there anything else that negatively impacts me?
I mean, I will see ads regardless of it being targeted at me using my data. I've been able to ignore most ads (i think).
Is there some other nefarious uses of my data that i'm not aware of? Maybe links to articles or videos?
