The crooks are in charge. You can not have anyone in charge of their own discipline. You must have the judges answer to an independent board with real power to remove them if they break a code that should be set in stone. Anyone breaks the code they are removed and imprisoned if found guilty. It shouldn't be a problem for a judge to uphold that level of honesty and integrity.

Oh, my god! This is absolutely unbelievable! I've worked for multiple corporations and in much lower government positions where I would have been instantly fired for taking or not disclosing such a payment. I was willing to look past the free vacations because that borders on telling a person who their friends are. (Even though Thomas should have NEVER taken such elaborate gifts.) But, accepting over $4000 a month in this way is not only unethical but also hypocritical for a supposedly conservative man who blathers on about self-sufficiency and hard work! A gift like this stinks of tax evasion, as well. I've lost any sympathy for Thomas and his wife. This needs to be investigated and Republicans need to go on record as approving or opposing such concealed bribery and influence peddling.

I think it is clear he needs to step down. Why are we still talking about this???

The way Thomas keeps filing "updated" paperwork for all of these gifts is like a bank robber filing out a withdrawal slip while in a high speed chase in the getaway car. Since he seems willing to fix this after the fact maybe he'll pay the taxes on the millions of generous gifts he has received.

Why is everyone ganging up on Uncle Thomas? Everyone knows that there are separate laws in this country for the rich and the not so rich. He was just exercising his prerogative as a member of this country's ruling class.

The kid being raised by a SUPREME COURT JUSTICE, is an "at risk youth"?

This is just grotesque justification for bribery.

His skin color has not a damn thing to do with it, this is NOT about judging the book by it's cover but judging by it's content!

I guess being a Supreme Court Lobbyist is a thing now... Thanks, Republicans, for filling the swamp.

Someone needs to make a comic drawing of the supreme court with Thomas having a tip jar in front of his seat.

In a 2001 speech, Clarence Thomas said serving on the Supreme Court wasn't worth it for the money. Guess that's why Clarence went out and got himself a billionaire sugar daddy?😆😅🤣😂

If this isnt a Judge being in someone's pocket then nothing is!!!

Our system of government has intentional checks and balances. The judges can resist all they want. It should not be their call on who holds them accountable. That would be an egregious conflict of interest.
