Knowing what I do now about Dyslexia, I look at a lot of my family behaviours in a different way.
So much of our personality is linked to our dyslexia.
For my parents time, being on time, time management has always been such a struggle.
It is well known if you want my parents to turn up on time somewhere, you tell them 45 minutes earlier than you need them!. It has been joked about my whole life… Of course now I can see why.
My mother and my father are both definitely strong visual thinkers and I would say are undiagnosed as Dyslexic/ADD.
This week I reflect on how this means you don’t naturally learn a sense of time - and doubly so if you are not getting that learning in your home environment.
