60Hz vs 90Hz vs 120Hz - Display Refresh Rate Comparison (S20 Ultra vs Note 10 Plus vs OnePlus 7 Pro)

In today's video, I want to to compare various different refresh rates to see how they actually look in slow motion and why higher refresh rates feel smoother in real life.

We will be using a 60Hz Note 10 Plus, a 90Hz OnePlus 7 Pro and a 120hz Galaxy S20 Ultra to do the comparison.

This test is so real life usage. My eyes has a slow motion mode. I do notice $700 differences between 120hz and 90hz phones

My initial reaction to using 120hz on the Ultra was mehh. After the first two days I didn't want to go back to 60hz. You really feel the difference as you go about your day, and stop looking for the difference. Those who are critics of higher refresh rates hasn't experienced it.

I picked up the ultra yesterday and the 120hz is very smooth but I'm a performance guy first. Running in 120hz requires you to disable high performance mode on the phone (limiting the CPU, screen brightness, and app ram storage policy) and you are required to reduce the screen resolution to 1080. I don't think the trade off is worth it so I will be running 60hz at full resolution and high performance mode.

Using my Galaxy s20 fe and you really can tell the difference between 60hz and 120hz. Mainly when scrolling or gaming but when you have used 60hz smart phone screens for YEARS, it kinda trips you out at first when switching to the 120hz lol

This is why i hate when other reviewers act like 120Hz is a big deal. You literally have to slow down time itself to see a visible difference. Any of y'all plan on slowing time every time you use your phone?

S20 feels sooo responsive that it almost doesn't feel real. You can really feel this when you're scrolling. I have S10 for my personal and S20 Plus for my work phone.. The difference is night and day!

Yeah i don't get people who say "iam going to show you why it matters, or why it makes a difference" proceeds to play the video in slow-motion as if we are living in slow motion. Why he did that you may ask well because he knows that to the naked eye 60hz and 120hz does not really matter if you are going to brows. Now in game it matters don't get me wrong.

If you want to feel the Refresh rate, hold your finger on a word of my comment (eg; the word "Refresh"). By holding that word, scratch the word up and down fastly (i.e, the comment section move up and down along with your finger on that word). Look how much the word follows your finger. In 120Hz, the word will not lag behind your finger at all, so you cannot even see the word while scratching because the word will always be under your finger.

I feel the 90hz would be the sweet spot for battery life, thank goodness my S20 FE has a work around (with help from Sakitech of course) that enables medium power mode + 120 Hz.

Personally i haven catch anything drastic, i still prefer Note10
