What if Padme became Chancellor? | Star Wars What If

In this Star Wars What if we examine a fate where Padme Amidala became the Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic during the events of Attack of the Clones. By doing so we will dive into how different events would turn out because of Padme's leadership as Chancellor, and how it would play on the eventual Clone Wars, and most especially the events with Count Dooku on Geonosis that sparked it all to life. This scenario actually did occur in a mod I played for Empire At War called "Rise Of Palpatine"

At any point during the Galactic Conquest, provided your tech level is high enough, you can choose a story arc for Revenge Of The Sith. It starts with Palpatine's abduction at the hands of General Grevious, and after Obi Wan and Anakin rescue him you have the option to keep him in power, or advise the senate to present evidence of his ties with the Separatists. By choosing the latter, the Jedi will succeed in arresting (or possibly killing him) following the defeat of Grevious. With the Republic effectively leaderless, the senate will appoint a new chancellor. My first impression was that it would have been Mon Mothma, but instead Padme was elected chancellor since she had more experience.

The only downside to this is that she cannot be deployed during ground battles anymore. She will still accompany your fleet during space battles and will personally oversee the battle from your flaghsip, but only in an advisory role. The benefit to this is that your fleet will have a morale boost and their stats will be increased significantly.

To bad she would make a great Chancellor if she didn't believe everything could be resolved with a good lecture or speech. firmly resolved against an army of the republic to the end (of the republic).

I agree with this " What If " . Palps was not about to be so easily Thwarted . No Way .
Although, as Supreme Chancellor, she may have sent Bail Organa in her stead . Choosing to stay in the Centre of things .

I know this isn’t about this but One thing I can say is these theories of her replacing palpatine as chancellor had anakin not turned are rediculous. Once her relationship with anakin became known her career in the senate let alone chance to become chancellor would effectively be over. While I’m sure Naboo would forgive her her professional image and reputation on courascaunt would be tainted, especially among the jedi who the new chancellor would need to work with. My guess is she would resign from the senate both to save Naboo’s reputation in the galactic government and to spend time with her kids before they leave for the temple to begin jedi training

Not exciting enough. How about Palpatine is killed by a bomb planted by Dooku, who then engineers the Senate vote to elect Padme. She goes to Genosis and as in your version and is held hostage. But in the ensuing fight, Dooku turns Anakin to the Dark Side. Darth Tyrranus now has everything he needs to bring the Republic to its knees!
