I'm completely blown away with how much I loved this show. It made me sob my eyes out.

Never heard of Will Sharpe before, but the guy is clearly a genius. Really intriguing concept, a dark British comedy partially inspired by Japanese comedy.

Dark, funny, emotional and, in my opinion, ultimately beautiful. Loved it!

"It's like...It's like an invisible monster with no shape, no form, but it's loud and fierce and it never ends"
"Right, okay. I mean, is that...Is that the clearest way you can think of to explain it?"
"I'm trying, I'm sorry"
"No, right, it's okay. So how do we defeat this monster?"
"We can't"
"There must be some way. All monsters have a weakness. Maybe it's love. Maybe...Maybe love is how we defeat this monster together"
"Love makes it worse"

When battling depression, there are very few things to say that will come out right and clear. In response to what they cannot understand, to what they feel is unclear yet bigger than them, to what they cannot deal with; as they're going through the motions of self-blame, guilt, self-loathing, all the "Is it something that I did?", while they're asking all the questions, when they've stopped, and all the in between; as they're sifting through defense mechanisms, everyone else who's stuck around long enough to watch it unfold starts behaving erratically, they develop a thing of their own, they build walls of words and carefully craft eccentricities and sometimes become hurtful in an attempt to generate an effect, a feeling, a thing, anything. They struggle to relate and then they hurt themselves in the process, and then, then they leave.

There's the long, heavy, silence within and then there's
all the chaos without, and in between, a vast, void space that keeps the two apart. And then, there are those who can empathize, validate and relate. Those who save lives.

The burden of dealing with mental illness is a heavy one to bear for both sufferer and their nearest and dearest. This show has been dubbed a black comedy but quite frankly, it's one of the best representation of coping with mental illness and its effects on loved ones, that the media's been able to produce in a while.

Who else is back after realizing the actress that played Amy is now playing Sylvie in Loki?

It's an absolute injustice that this show is so underrated.

just finished the first season, i think this the most a show has made me cry in years. it feels like your childhood watched through a distorting mirror where everything is completely different and yet the mood is so oddly familiar. Especially the shots capturing the scenery, I don't think I've ever seen this type of similarity to my own experience of the world in any media before. Strikingly beautiful.

Just got done watching both series on Netflix Canada. OMG Shun was so fn cute and adorable and really broke my heart....and just read that the show is actually written, created and directed by him?! Amazing talent and his japanese accent seemed bang on. Really enjoyed it, now...where's season 3, eh?

It’s been more than 10 years since the 2nd golden age of British comedy. This is good enough to usher in a 3rd. Please let it be so. I’ve been waiting so long.

Just started watching this on Netflix. I hate everything on tv right now and movies are few and far between that I'll watch too but this show is fantastic! Funny as hell!! 🤣
If I can get past eps two for a show then I'm usually all in, and I did and I am!
