Many Airlines Don't Have A Row 13 On Their Planes!

Have you ever looked at an aircraft seat map or noticed the numbering when onboard and realized that row 13 is missing? Well if you didn’t know, now you know! It’s actually a practice that’s followed by several airlines worldwide that caters to the superstitious belief that the number 13 is unlucky. We never had a Row 13 with AirUK. Strange thing people don't realise, is if they're in Row 14, they're in the 13th row anyway 🤷

@airbaltic also does not have row 13. Usually, when I fly with someone who is not a regular flyer, during boarding when we approach rows 12-14 I (jokingly) make a surprised face and tell "OMG WE HAVE A DEFECTIVE AIRCRAFT, the row is missing" 😃

For a few years I lived on the 16th floor of a 20-floor building. Except no floor was numbered 13, so mine was actually the 15th.

I think it’s also because in the ICAO annexes, annex 13- aircraft accident /incident investigation
Annex 17 -Security: Safeguarding International Civil Aviation Against Acts of Unlawful Interference
Might be one the reasons why airlines dont want these bad luck numbers/annexes on board

It’s funny that Alaska doesn’t have a row 13 on their 737-800s when anyone who’s flown one knows it’s row 12 that’s the unlucky one, at least on the port side as there is no window!

That is because 13 is considered as unlucky, so this should also be one of the reasons that the iPhone 13 and iOS 13 should not exist
