What a gorgeous movie. Cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this. Norman Hartnell, Hardy Amies and the return of British textile manufacturing and high fashion post-war. I don’t think there need be any apologies for something so lovely. It just is.

Enjoyed this very much. Couple of in jokes at the expense of our two leads and you know you're in the land of escapist nonsense. At 11mins, "She looks a bit like Anna Neagle". And at 45mins, "A member of the Michael Wilding fan club". PS, Anna Neagle was 44 at the time of shooting.
