One small note : @ 21:00 "When we're using audio we have to swing manually" - audio clips in Ableton can have grooves applied to them the same as MIDI clips.

When he says there is nothing in what he later calls the groove spots, I think he is assuming the user knows that the sound in the bars above are releasing at that point and the midi notes while still in that spot is not going to be actually producing sound (unless you have some super subby kick).
