I was a practicing locksmith at one point. I got a gig with the Catholic Charities. At their Direction I would go and change the locks on somebody's door. This was meant to keep an abusive significant other out of the house. I'm working on those locks. And the abusive individual walks up to me. And says you're going to give me the new key. I said no that would completely defeat the purpose of changing the locks. He steps up gets into my space and says you're going to give me the key. I stand up. I am easily twice his size. And I have a rubber mallet in my hand that I was gently urging the new lock into place. I was not going to be gentle if he got violent with me. All of a sudden a small blonde woman walked up. I thought she was the next door neighbor. He thought that she was one of his wife's friends. He tried his nasty act on her. She immediately had him fitted for a pair of Smith & Wesson M100 handcuffs. Speaking as a locksmith I thought they fit quite well.

This is how you know that if a kid gives you a compliment, THEY MEAN IT. Cherish that for as long as you live.

This is my Uncle’s video! He worked as a social worker for Catholic Charities for 15 years in Chicago and the stories he has you truly cannot believe. These stories sound a lot like these. Always told beautifully Mrs. Rogers. Always look forward to Tuesdays and anytime new content comes out especially, since I just watched everything you have to offer including your podcast. Keep being incredible!

Thank you to all the social workers that have helped me. I was in foster care. I went in as an older teen. I was not an easy kid. And my social worker had her hands full. But she decided instead of fighting me, she worked with me, knowing it would reflect poorly on her. So I was AWOL from the children's home. She had the address of where I was staying, and the phone number for the mom (and the dad once he was home from Iraq) she signed my papers so I could enroll into school as a runaway. And she followed up with my teachers to ensure I was doing my work and everything. She told the police officer on campus to not pick me up (police were supposed to take me back to the children's home and he knew I was AWOL) Prom was on my birthday and she told the police office to let me enjoy it. She fought for what was actually in my best interest.

And then the social workers at the children's hospitals have been amazing. When my daughter needed emergency surgery and we were sent from our local hospital to one children's hospital, well that area was significantly cooler, and I didn't have clothes for that weather, and no one could just bring me clothes and I didn't have money, so they got me a voucher to the gift shop to buy a pair of sweatpants and sweatshirt. They secured a pump for me. They did so much. And then there's the children's hospital my kids are patients at... we last met with one in March for my baby's transplant listing. They have to recommend for transplant listing. She also gave me a bunch of resources

Please do one of these on IT Support/reps. They deal with a lot. I used to be one and the questions that come up are ridiculous. Also some people are truly IT ignorant and others just can't be taught

I'm a respite worker and girl, you could totally do a series on us! I've got a few myself. Some stuff I've been thru working this job....I'm sure some people wouldn't believe. Anyway, love you!💜

You should do a dispatcher episode! As someone who’s dad use to be one, I can confidently say that there is some INTERESTING things that are called in.

For teacher appreciation week, you should have the students that follow here submit “I wish my teacher knew” with positive comments to share with the followers

As someone that used to be an opiate addict and has been on Methadone, I don’t blame him one bit.
Not that shocking. Having to wait a full day will put you in HORRIFIC withdrawal to the point that you just want to die. And could easily cause a relapse. If someone was put in the same situation, they would most likely do the same thing.

Oooh, public librarians see doozies too! That might make a good episode.

"Little Wayne" may not be an emotion, but "Lil Wayne" absolutely is.

It's the emotion that your bars are full of broken bottles and your nightstands are full of open bibles.

So I work with people with severe mental illness and one of my favorite stories is I had a client with schizoaffective disorder in transitional housing because he had just gotten out of a state hospital. One day when I got there to pass him his meds, the manager of the home handed me a note and said it was from that client I was there to see. The note read, “I am not speaking today. It helps me with my suffering.” So I go knock on his door, asked him about the note, and he said, “Good. So you know.” He took his meds from me and kicked me out of the apartment. I keep that little piece of paper pinned up at my desk in the office!

Also, a client chased me with a cinder block on one occasion and chased our nurse with a knife on a separate occasion.

I'm a nurse that specializes in long term care. a lot of my residents have dementia. the lady that tried to trip the social worker probably thought the social worker was a kid running around her house

Omg, the phantom pooper takes me back to working contract security at the corporate offices of a major bank. Had an individual doing the same thing in the men's room. In the end we had to install a camera watching the entrance to the bathroom, check it once an hour for "deposits", and when we find one go over the cottage to make a list of who used it that hour. It was no secret that we were doing this, guards were very visible in the area and the camera wasn't hidden at all. Still the guy kept at it until we narrowed down who it had to be and confronted him with HR. His reaction - what's the big deal, at least I did it in the right room!

Yesterday as I knocked doors for political candidates, a lady answered the door saying, "we aren't home right now." Then, she shut the door.

In shock, I had nothing to say.
