The #1 way I’d recommend to make well over $100, 000 is to do travel social work. This year alone I made over $200k (I only worked for 7 months) and I’m an LMSW since 2019..so I’m pretty new to the profession 😊

I am a first year school social worker in NYC and currently making 73k, in July my salary will increase to 77k. I am not licensed yet but I have my MSW ! It is possible to make good money in the social work world !! We do alot and deserve to get paid well !

I have a LMSW and I make 80k with six percent raise yearly and a pension. I work for a a health insurance company and my background is medial social work. But now I have an interview with a health clinic/system to work as the chief executive officer within in a medical/ human behavioral program system and the starting salary is 150k to 200k. So the money is there. Just have to know your lane and grind. Like you said at the start it maybe tough. But once you get experience you can take it as far as you want. I know now for regular medical jobs as a SW in a hospital my starting pay is usually 75 k plus and that’s after having 5 years experience under my belt. But of course that depends on the region your in.

Social work is such a vast field. You can work in Hospital's, Government (mental health, social services. Public Health, probation, etc). In LA the county pay is great and can be very rewarding. You can also work in higher education as a counselor or Advisor and you can also work in the Private Sector (H.R, CSR, & Public Relations), and Private Practice. So much you can do with it but it's up to you how you make it benefit you. Be encouraged

I work as a Children’s Social Worker within a specialized unit; however, I work for Los Angeles County, and yes our department (DCFS) is paid up to over $100, 000. In addition, I’ve previously worked as a psychotherapist, but between the two that’s a lot regarding my emotional state. It’s a lot of work, but the field is highly rewarding. BTW… Each state is different, but my background is Marriage Family Therapy. I’d recommend MSW. ❤️

You can make money. I am a counselor in a school in the inner city, making over $70k. Plus I am a therapist part time putting me near 6 figures. I graduated in 2018. I am a LSW outside of Chicago. ❤

I hate when people say you can’t make money in social work. The money and jobs are out there, you just have to do the research to find them. Even if you aren’t licensed they can pay you to get licensed or do something to help. I work in child welfare so obviously the money isn’t really there but what I lose in money I gain in flexibility with my work schedule among other perks.

I’m in my first year in grad school and my goal is to get licensed ( LCSW ) I always search up jobs on indeed for motivation lol 😂🙌🏽 I can’t wait to make 6K and yes you’re right, remote aka telepath is getting bigger. Some agencies are hiring lcsw outside their states to work for them. ( my goal is mental health, agencies / private health )
