Wow 40K wage, that's low compared to where I live. (Vancouver, Canada) The lowest wage for clinical social workers in hospitals is 35$/hour or 67, 000k a year, and goes all the way up to 45$/hour which is 86k per year (if your supervisor you make 95k). Social workers make really good money here.

Very under paid. Should be making 70, 000 or more with a clinical license and she is bilingual. I started almost making 70, 000 with a license masters degree.

I make about the same amount as her and I only have my bachelor’s degree. I also just graduated this year smh However, I do completely agree! We do not go into this field for the money so it doesn’t really impact our attitudes significantly.

I love what I do and I couldn’t imagine switching my major at this point in my life. My goal is to get my Master’s degree within the next 4 years at my own pace.

It’s important to be passionate about the work. I really love the fact that I am able to make a difference in people’s lives. It’s an amazing feeling!

I don't understand this. I'm a medical assistant, I went to school for 9 months and I make 10k more a year than her. I also made more bartending. That's extremely discouraging. What degree does she have?

Wow, that is low compared to Massachusetts. I think you should relocate to another state where they pay well. Earning 48, 000 annually for LCSW is too low.

wonderful. not only do non-english speaking illegals get MORE social services than REAL americans in DIRE NEED -like me, but the social workers get EXTRA pay for helping these illegals. why would any social worker want to work for legal americans when they can make MORE MONEY working for illegals?
