I can't wait until computers just have like 10 USB-C ports all around them haha

Nice video Jon, I loved the 'a company called Gog-gle?' bit.

So... They're telling us that regular USB ports that almost ALL laptops and pc's use are going to disappear ? I hope the world can carry with that lot of trash is going to be produced. For me, actual USB port is perfect.

Hi John I like the way how you present things in a most relaxed and fun way ( though I do wonder how you could be so relaxed sometimes in this day and age).

Usb type C is something that was needed, but it's a big change so I would rather see that they use both for the coming two years in devices.

I heard that USB Type C can also be used as a plug for old USB ports. So, it's not not necessarily speeder. It all depends on the device.

I see alot of potential for this new standard. However, we need everyone to adapt to the new standard. I hope next year the android side will all adopt this new standard. As for mac power port, I still prefer the magnetic magsafe connector. Even though it is proprietary, it is still very reliable and less prone to wear and tear

USB type-c is capable to transfer video and sound, not because of its high speed, but rather because of it separate dedicated pins on its conectors. So it is possible to buy a breakout cable (not a powered brick converter) to plug in your monitor without the need of having dedicated ports (HDMI, DVI, Display Port) in your laptop/pc.

Another thing i can tell my future kids... "i lived trough the time, when you were never able to plug in a usb on the first try." They will never know the fusturation.

When I was shopping for a new motherboard, I wanted to get some future stuff, so I looked for one with a Type-C USB. But I can not get it to work. The light on my USB external SSD does not turn on. As far as I can tell, the plug on my cord is fully inserted in the slot. The device works when I remove USB Type A adapter and plug into a USB Type A port.

So with the new MacBook, do you have to choose between charging your laptop and say using another USB device? or using an HDMI output? The port is nice but just like with the old USB ports, you need more than 1...

At around 1:31 you said "5 Mbits" and "10 Mbits", I assume you meant Gigabits.
