One of the reasons I enjoy watching your channel Gavin is that you take Pride in Your Work. Seems to be something that has been missing from a lot of people for too long.

I started doing a little drain cleaning after the big name companies were way over charging and doing a really bad job at a friend's big restaurant. Every few months, the main drain in the kitchen stopped up, so a year ago, the company came out, ran the baby size jetter. The next day, same drain was stopped up, company said they would charge again. I told him I would try to clear it, and I did. I found a clog at 30 ft and 50 ft. Ran the cheap nozzle that came with the hose, then ran the cheap tiny rotating nozzle that came with the hose. 2 weeks later, my camera arrived, line was 99% clean, saw 1 little dab of grease, on the top of the pipe. Here we are, 1 year later, and the drains have not stopped up since. But I have upgraded nozzles to be ready for what lies next. I also bought a flex shaft, and have used it on the last few jobs with excellent results. Also, my friend has told his friends about how much better a job I do, and they now call me, as they too were being ripped off. Ps, I did electrical work the last 40 years, so drain cleaning is not my expertise, but I am finding that many have no clue how to do it right, or either they purposely do it badly to ensure a callback? Thank goodness you are one of the good guys, I wouldn't think of being any other way.

It's a crying shame that more people don't have the moral work ethics like you do Mr P . I wish many more Blessings for you and Mrs P and the little Peapods from Tennessee

I saw a video in Aussieland where a plumber charged this woman 955.00 and told her using a camera would be another 500.00. He used a wire/cable and made a hole to drop the water... and in a few days it was clogged again. Totally ripping people off and left a mess.
Another plumber came and it was packed with roots, he did a great job cutting them away and cleaned up behind him. The ones ripping people off should be named and shamed.

I totally agree with you. All trades I have I watch them to see what actually do so know who does a good job or rips me off- especially cause I have autism and in a wheelchair. Watching YouTube gives me the knowledge to know a good person or a bad person. You Gavin explained things bang on with increase price of living and lots of cowboys out there, your experience and explaining has helped me to voice displeasure if I feel they are scamming me. You stick to your way and it will definitely be paid forward with excellent work ethic and amazing customers who can depend upon you for life. I love CCTV before and after and talking to people

I personally think the hacks are doing you a service by letting people contrast their 'job' against yours! 😂🤣🤩

Experience and competence have a price. Never lower your price otherwise the clients will never know the difference between you and the bad guys who do the bad jobs. There is a different price for a 5 stars hotel and a 2 stars hotel. Same thing for your line of work. Your are the best 👍👍👍

The last time I visited Australia I was struck by the cost of living. Just looking at the cost of groceries, it was like the supermarket prices were what I might expect from a convenience store in Central London. I also stayed in shared dorms in hostels because the hotels were too expensive. Wonderful country and great people, would love to go back (I still haven't seen any of the West for a start), but I need rather more disposable income to be able to afford that!

Gav, customers might not be able to use the dunny or any other sanitary fixtures, until it becomes a major inconvenience and only then, they'll research the cheapest quote, and the cowboys are only too willing to take the customers money for a half arsed job. So, who's to blame? I can guarantee, most Jetter operators don't have a COC to operate 5600 bar class B HPWJ because they're not aware of the legislation and jetting isn't regulated. But those of us who take pride provide a valuable service for a reasonable price. Keep up the good work Gav.
