Thank you very much for this comparison. I own a Samsung galaxy tab s4 and I'm quite happy with it so far. Though I'm a bit jealous for procreate, but I don't fit into the Apple universe anywhere else...
Still I think the art comes from the artist and not from the device or the program, and I've seen beautiful art being created with far cheaper options... 😊

If you don't like the softer tip on the S pen, you can change it with the harder tip (should be the darker ones in the replacements provided in the box).

This makes it great for note taking. Friction is minimal, hence the pen flows on the screen with ease.

Cheaper, with expandable storage. And they wonder why some of us prefer the Galaxy Tab? I just wish there was more art app support for it.

I just don't like Apple. But I have to admit, the Apple drawing experience seems to be better. The lagginess on Android is a bummer.
Edit: Thank you for the very in-depth review!

form my note 2014 version :
-samsung s-pen had 2 differrent pen tips (which was never mention in the manual). there are the plastic and rubber-like one .
-most of samsung s-pen are not that large but TAB s4 's pen was design like an old style ballpoint pen. if you prefer the cone shape tip like apple pencil. you must buy 3rd party s-pen alternatives or staedler version s-pen.

I was always an android user but bought an ipad pro for drawing, is great, but if I had to choose again I would buy the tab s4, because i dont like the apple ecosystem, so really take that into account

This is a really great review but have you tried the app IbisPaint X? I've been using it for 4 years now and its really good! You would have to turn on pen pressure in the settings though.

I’ve drawn on both! iPad Pro is god in this discussion.

I agree. I'm not a apple fan but do agree the iPad is overall better drawing tablet. It has way better software (clip studio n procreate n affinity designer) and the Apple pencil works really well.

What Samsung tablet really lack is the app. The drawing is great but not better then Apple pencil. It's a shame that not enough third party would port their app over. Wished Google would lure them over. Bummer.

I just got an apple pencil with the ipad air 3, I'm using procreate. It is so much fun! I'm going to enjoy drawing my quirky little shaky sketches with undo function and layers!

I just bought the ipad pro for online teaching. But found that the tip produces a lot of clicking noise while writing, students find it really unbearable during live sessions. Can you please help me with this?

Hey Teoh! It’s cool to hear a Singaporean’s perspective on this. Could you check out concepts on the tab S4? I would like to know if the drawing experience on that app is better than the other options.

I once had a Galaxy Tab. The screen was nice, but it lasted 6 months before the battery died. Then I got the iPad Pro, and never got an Android device ever since, something I certainly never regretted.

iPads are so much nicer than Android tablets!

Apple Pencil is better for drawing but for note taking s pen is king followed by surface pen. Apple Pencil just glides to much and is strictly avg for note taking.
