Rachel, some real good goals. Don't know if you know how to can, but that would go well with growing your garden. You could even practice that now by finding some bulk veggies somewhere and learn as you go, well before your harvest season. I have no need or the logistics to do that now but wish I learned that skill a long time ago.

Rachel i live in Oregon and am trying to grow sweet potatoes in a not long enough hot climate so am using a brooder light and a plastic shield to try and keep my slits warm enough to produce tubers. The rest of my garden should grow okay. Have a great day.

I've really been wondering if there was a way to work out a situation for a couple of years to stay with your aunt, pay her more rent so it's more worth it for her, and work on your garden, etc and provide to her through the garden and maybe canning, etc. Take care!
