I, too, straightened my hair since I was 14 years old. It wasn't until COVID when I could not go to the salon that I saw my own curly hair. I felt so dumb for spending all that time and money changing my hair. I find that going natural is so much easier and is less expensive. Straight perms damaged my hair and were expensive and high mainence. Curly perms were expensive and the daily use of curl activator products was also messy.

Now I literally wash, condition, style and go. Inexpensive, low maintenance, and healthy hair!

i went through something similar, when i was 8, i would straighten my hair without heat protectant since all of the pretty girls i knew had straight hair, and i wanted to be like them and have “ naturally “ straight hair. i did it for almost 3 years when i decided my hair was FRIED and i needed to fix it. i started to leave it alone and let it grow out a lot more to cut off any damaged hair and i started a collection a hair products! my hair was originally around 3a-3b but after everything i did to it it still ends up being around 2b-3a which isn’t too bad. IM GLAD U GOT UR CURLS BACK!!! ❤

I LOVEEE my curly hair but I never really learned to style it until I was 14 or so because I wouldn't even brush it. I've finally been styling it but I still have trouble with feeling like I don't fit in with all these smooth, curling-iron styles of hair at my high school. I hate when it's big but I'm trying to embrace that it's just gonna do that.
