The Wild Robot Is My FAVOURITE Film This Year (So Far)

A few days ago I went to see The Wild Robot, and whilst I'll admit a lot of film released so far this year have been REALLY, this one just hits different. It is genuinely unique amongst this era of animated films, and harkens back to some pretty rough themes that were explored in older animated movies. Visually it's stunning, the story is simplistic but done extremely well, and I honestly can't wait to watch it again. I cannot recommend a film enough but I'll try my best today. Enjoy.

I was just sitting there waiting for the movie to rip my heart out. Because I heard it made people cry. I thought it would be the ending. But no, it was towards the middle. The moment Bright Bill takes off with his flock and Ros’s task complete indicator gives the last check mark, she takes off running after him. Long Neck brings the flock back over so she can see Bright Bill one more time. The music swells, and the tears start falling. This scene was so powerful because in that moment of realization that she wouldn’t be caring for Bright Bill anymore, that her job was done, she didn’t want it to be. She didn’t understand how much she felt for him. And I, as an audience member didn’t realize how much I cared. But in that moment, all of the emotions hit Roz hard. And the audience feels the same impact at the same exact time. That is so impressive. This film set out to make us feel. And it didn’t just succeed, it exceeded expectations. I am blown away by it. This will be one of my most remembered movie experiences.

DreamWorks is hit or miss, but they are still the only american studio that can compete with pixar/disney. It has been a great year for animation. And we still didn't see moana 2 and rohirim yet

I've never had to hold back tears so hard as I did with this movie, if I had been alone I would've definitely bawled. Everything was just so beautiful, favorite movie of the year definitely!!

I can explain because the movie is about parenthood and is about a goose being raised by her adoptive mother as learn what is like to honor her parents while her adoptive mother learns to be a good parent. The book comes from POV of a young mother learning how to raise a child, this is very movie those who mas nieces and nephews'

9:04 i was shocked when one of the possum kids "died" and it wasn't treated like a massively traumatic experience

idk if that's in the books, but it's refreshing to see kids media that treats death with this kind of irreverence ? or not irreverence but treating it as normal—because nature really is just like that

Fink (the fox) was defo my favourite and i loved his dynamic with roz and blightbill as the “uncle/father” character. He definitely deserves to become a true main character throughout the trilogy (if they do the other two books)

Read the book series in middle school, and the movie is, surprisingly, just as good. Beautiful animation. Dreamworks brought the island to life better than I ever imagined. Gave me back a near-forgotten piece of my adolescence and made me cry more than once. Incredible film. Highly recommend.

I cried at Roz finding the egg, the migration scene, The winter scene, longneck, and twice at the end. I have never had any show or media make me cry SIX times. This movie is the biggest gut wrencher for me and I want to watch it over again
