worked perfectly even with a newer version. Only when you want to make a new java application with ants, net beams will ask you to download and enable something (forgot the name) just do what netbeans tells you and everything is okay. Thy for the great video!

thank you this was very help. I had to download the zip file for jdk. Then when I downloaded the the NetBeans IDE it seemed to download the jdk again. But since your explanation and tutorial were so clear I was able to complete. I am very new to Java so everything was new to me - even the simple terms.
