Sounds like the dragonfruit (and mangosteen) weren’t ripe enough. When they’re ripe, they’re really juicy and sweet! Especially the yellow dragonfruit (they’re the sweetest variety of dragonfruit by far). I live in Asia, so I can get fresh dragonfruit for super cheap, but they’re prob harvested when they’re less ripe when they have to be exported to North America.

I love all your taste tests, but the fruit ones are my favorite. After the first one we went to sprouts and tried so many! Hooray!!!

I moved to Florida and have dragonfruit growing in my yard. Never tried one, but now I absolutely love them!

I am kinda glad you all had that reaction to dragonfruit because I personally didn’t like it either. I was starting to feel like the odd one out. Haha. It didn’t have much of a taste at all to me. Yes to a veggie video!

If you can find it, an Orange Flesh melon is wonderful. It's like the most delicious, sweet, silky cantaloupe. The outside kind of looks like a honeydew with a little texture, and a slight orange tinge. It's a honeydew/cantaloupe hybrid. It has a very short season, and normally you can find them at Whole Foods or Sprouts. It's a late summer melon, so now's the time to look or ask for them. You can tell it's ripe when it feels heavy for its size and the perfume of the melon is evident when you pick it up. They are SO good!

My favorite thing with guava is POG. If you ever get a chance to try it it's usually labeled as passion-orange-guava juice, drink, or beverage. It's generally available in Asian stores or Hawaiian restaurants in the continental US.

Hi! Sometimes fruit is not as sweet when first purchased because they are sometimes harvested before they are actually ripe to withstand time in traveling to store. I live in an island and we get many fruits that are imported but what I have noticed, is that some fruit must sit on a table for a few days so that the flavors and ripeness can fully develop. Similar to a banana. Sometimes the more they sit and ripen, the sweeter - sometimes - they become. Local produce is always sweeter and more ripe when buying but imported fruit usually needs time to ripen further ... a few days sometimes, especially in the presence of bananas and apples that give off a gas that ripen fruit more quickly. Time or more time are good for fruits but not so much for vegetables.

Growing up in southern California we had a loquat tree. The fruits were small (ping pong ball size or less) with big seeds inside, but the flesh was sweet and pale orange. Kinda like super ripe tuscan cantaloupe. Yummm
Don't know if I've ever seen them sold in a grocery store though. Loquat

Kumquats are different than Golden Berries but the same size. They're citrusy and you can eat the whole thing, even the peel! They're super common in Florida.

I love gooseberries! They’re like sweet tomatoes. I’ve actually only eaten them in savory dishes.

Golden berries are great! Gooseberries are green/burgundy and are fairy sour and make great pies!

Loving these videos. I've never tried a dragon fruit because they are $10 each and I've seen so many different opinions. You should try locus n wild honey and sugar apples. Mangosteen is expensive because it's a super food. Supposed to kill cancer.

Love your videos! Gooseberries were a favorite growing up in the Midwest. Never from a grocery store but grown in home gardens. I've moved away and bought them in stores and they've never been as good

1:12 I mean, who would like to try dragon fruit outside of Bali etc? The imported ones taste like water and are expensive so they are not worth buying XD
