To get those smooth RLB patterns don't go for the whizzy speed before you've spent a lot of time playing really slowly and relaxed. Be patient. Make it clean and precise and stop thinking about the speed altogether :-D

What drum head models are you using regarding the 14” Tom + snare & the 18”? I’ve been looking to get new heads for those same sizes and I really like this setup
