Frank Mathews is and will always be slept on cause we know so little about him.
He was younger than most. Organized multiple cities over multiple states.
And the last sentence he said to Law Enforcement when offered a deal for Snitching was:
“No that’s ok.”

Come on peoples. Frank Lucus is not #1. That would probably be Bumpy Johnson or Frank Matthews. Please stop it!!! And Felix Mitchell was stabbed to death in federal prison by an older inmate.

"Their is no way, Bumpy Johnson, Frank Mathews, Big Meech, Eddie Jackson, Doc Davis, Rayful Edmonds or Felix Mitchell not mentioned on this list". "Because they were bigger than most ("if not all") the guys on that list")

What, no Frank Ward from Oakland? The movie "The Mack" was dedicated to him. The Ward Brothers ran Oakland late 60's, early 70's. It's said that Huey Newton and the Panthers murdered him due to his criminal activities.

Frank Lucas should definitely be on this list, but don't let Denzel Washington's brilliant performance fool you! He wasn't the most powerful Black gangster in American history!

Guy Fisher never sold no crack. Frank Matthews should be No. 1 on this list.

I can list more gangsters than I can presidents. The streets done more for me than my government ever had. Just think if these individuals put that energy into something other than dope! Love the underdogs!
