You left out the best part about Garfield. After he was shot he supposedly uttered “what’s this then?” before fighting off his assassin. Like McKinley, it would be an infection to his wounds that claimed his life.

You guys definitely should have included the assassination of Colossio. He was running for president of Mexico in the the 90s and was speaking out against the corruption between government and organized crime. The people loved him and saw him as their symbol of hope. He was assassinated in broad daylight leaving one of his rallies.

No matter how famous or big we are, we are still all flesh and blood.

Franz Ferdinand affected me the most. It kickstarted the war, which led to Russian occupation of Poland, which led to my family leaving Poland for America. I never would have been born without that assassination

I was born three hours after RFK died. So instead of being happy with her new baby, my mother spent that week crying.

Kennedy Brothers are the most unfortunate. They both were so much to the whole nation and they both could have done alot more for the nation.
However some people with hatred and wicked mind will always find a way to eliminate anyone against their ill thoughts.

President Kennedy’s assassination affected me the most. I remember it like it happened yesterday. I grew up in Germany and was in high school at the time. It really affected all of Germany. The president had visited Germany just a few months prior to his death. He had given a speech in the recently divided Berlin (the Berlin Wall had been erected 2 years earlier). He declared “Ich bin ein Berliner” to a live audience of thousands of Berlin citizens. He won the hearts of the German people. His death affected Germany, and especially Berlin very deeply.
Concerts were stopped, restaurants closed, parties broke up. Crowds gathered where Kennedy had held his speech. I’ll never forget how we couldn’t talk about anything else for days!

Archduke Ferdinand I knew was going to be number one it was the match that lit the powder keg which was the Balkans. A match that lit off every event that has happened to this day.

Oswald wasn't arrested before he shot the officer, he was arrested after.

The only one that has really impacted me was the assassination of Abe Shinzo, I was the only person up in my house at the time and watched as the news broke. That was the first one I’ve ever personally experienced but I’ll never get over the fact I don’t get to live in the same time as The Legendary John Lennon

One of my favourite musicals is "Assassins", about the real life figures who attempted, successfully or otherwise, to slay an American president. I'd recommend it if you're a fan of history, musicals, or both!

2016: Christina Grimmie was assassinated during her own concert at a meet n greet, a few days later was a massacre at Pulse Nightclub.

it's insane that John Lennon's assassin got 20 years and repeated parole denials but Dan white who murdered 2 people got out after 5 because of "depression"

On the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand - Gavrilo Princip wasn't sentenced to death, but he died in prison in 1918 about six months before the end of WW1. At the site of the assassination, a memorial was built to Princip by the Yugoslavs. However, it was destroyed during the 1990s Bosnian War by locals who didn't want a memorial to a Serb in the city. A replacement memorial, which is not dedicated to anyone, has been constructed since.

“Here's an interesting form of murder we came up with: assassination. You know what's interesting about assassination? Well, not only does it change those popularity polls in a big fucking hurry, but it's also interesting to notice who it is we assassinate. Did you ever notice who it is? Stop to think who it is we kill? It's always people who've told us to live together in harmony and try to love one another. Jesus, Gandhi, Lincoln, John Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Medgar Evers, Malcolm X, John Lennon, they all said, "Try to live together peacefully." BAM! Right in the fucking head. Apparently we're not ready for that.” - George Carlin
