I once lived in a quiet neighborhood and found a Ford Expedition that I didn't recognize parked in my driveway. The neighbors on either side of me weren't home, so I hooked up a tow strap, put my truck in 4WD and pulled it out into the street. Another time I came home on Christmas Day and found a car blocking my driveway. I backed up my truck and was getting ready to hook up my tow strap when a visitor from across the street came running out and moved it. Park in my driveway, or block it, and I don't mess around. I resolve the issue myself in a few minutes.

It may be different in other countries but from my understanding when you buy a house, you don't own the street parking outside it.

In the 1960s my uncle ran a mixed farm (arable and livestock) in Kent, inEngland. Sometimes odd cars would turn up parked, seemingly abandoned, on his farm. He dealt with them like this. One appeared in front of a recessed gate to a field full of sheep. After two days it was still there, so he moved the actual gate further down the fence line, but covered the car with a tarpaulin and piled about two hundred tires all over it, so it looked like a silage clamp, (silage is cut grass sealed under tarpaulin and sealed in with tires, so it ferments and is fed to livestock in winter). Hidden in plain sight. Another one that was awkwardly left obstructing another gate, he moved the gate again, but erected an old shed over the car, having first covered it with old blankets. Then he surrounded it with old bales of barb wire, bits of old lumber and some old rusting bits of ancient farm machinery. The police visited once and asked if he had seen any odd cars around, but he feigned ignorance and three years later scrapped both motors making a tidy sum with the scrap man. He retired from and sold the farm in 2000. No proof, but a great tale. Hes dead now alas, lovely man, many many tales and a great laugh. Use this if you want.

When I was in college a friend of mine shared a house with a few roommates, and they had very limited parking in the back. Like one for each car. This being a college neighborhood, finding parking on the street was always a problem, so having off-street parking was a huge perk at the time. One neighbor nearby kept stealing their spot, forcing my friend or one of the roommates to find parking on the street, sometimes several blocks away. So they finally had enough, got one of those plastic 5 gallon buckets, and in a scheme that only college students would think of, made that the communal toilet until it was filled up. For days, 4 guys pissed and shat in that same bucket, keeping the lid on when not in use. When that bucket of piss and shit was filled near to the rim, they jimmied the guy's car door open and dumped it ALL out in the back seat. The car had disappeared the next morning and never returned.

The clip of the McLaren being towed made me smile, there is a bit of pleasure that goes with enforcing expensive cars whose owners think they are too important to follow the rules.

In the United States, it is perfectly legal to park anywhere you want on the street you live, as long as you don't block driveways. People taking "Revenge" on them, get fined and arrested.

I frequently see one that belongs on this list: A farmer had an empty field across from his produce stand and customers would often park in the field, despite many signs. He had plenty of parking on the stand side, but people parked in the field anyway. One day he wanted to plow the field but it was full of cars. So, he plowed all around the perimeter, surrounding the cars with freshly-tilled earth. When the owners tried to leave, they got stuck in the tilled ground. They called the police, who came out, saw the signs, read the string of complaints the farmer had left in the past, shrugged and told the people to call tow trucks.

Patrons to a yuppie restaurant used to park in my driveway -- I used to put a plastic bag over my hand and rub my dog's crap under each of their door handles - so the first they'd know of it was as they grasped the handle... and then had to try to find somewhere to wash their hand... then I'd rub the rest into their front grill so they could smell it all the way home and until they discovered its origin and got it power washed out.

The person blocking someone in because they parked outside their house needs a lesson in manners, when you buy the house you only purchase the house and garden, not the road outside the house, you’ve got a driveway use it, my car has a tow bar and I’m afraid the front bumper would be in a bit of a state after I’d reversed but I’d have got the police first and said they wouldn’t let me out, totally different if they block the driveway so you can’t get into your own drive
