Belly mapping to identify baby’s position ✨

Показать описание
✨ Did you know you can determine the position of your baby in your womb at home? ✨
Belly mapping is a technique of learning to find your baby’s position by feeling certain areas of your belly. Gaily Tully of @spinningbabies is the creator of this process.
It’s actually quite simple. Around 30 weeks is usually when I start belly mapping. Prior to that, baby still has lots of room to wiggle and roll before they determine their ideal “home” position. This “home” position will often depend on the mom’s body balancing which can be addressed by following the @spinningbabies website. Chiropractic care also can play a major roll in keeping the body balanced throughout pregnancy!
First, find the head by feeling around for what will feel like a mini bowling ball. This is often more challenging to find if baby is lower into the pelvis. This is why you should belly map before baby begins to drop into the birth canal.
Next, find the heartbeat! If you have a fetascope this will help pinpoint the exact position of the heart whereas Doppler will amplify the heartbeat and pinpointing may be a bit trickier. The heart will be part of the baby’s back and you should feel a hard, long mass.
Now find the baby’s bum. This will be hard and round and can sometimes feel like the head. When you press against the bum, the baby often wiggles from side to side.
You can also think about movements you are feeling. Deeper kicks into your ribs indicate an anterior position, whereas deep kicks on both sides of the abdomen may indicate a posterior position.
✨Have you ever tried belly mapping??! ✨
