Me in Oblivion; *uses the duplication trick to get 1000 lockpicks and spams auto try*

Me in Skyrim; *buying every lockpick I can find and getting annoyed at how the average lock is being pickier than usual*

Lmao I love it when I find a "Master" level lock and I unlock it without even moving the lockpick at all. Just activate the lock, turn the lock, and its open XD

Ah yeah I remember the years between 2008-2010 when my mom and I would playing oblivion and fallout 3 on Xbox 360 and especially in oblivion she would sometimes just hand me the controller and be like “pick this lock” lol

Even though I only played Oblivion for a weekend before “heading back to familiar ground” of Skyrim, that meme you used couldn’t have described my thoughts even more perfectly. When I decided to lockpick an easy chest, I was like, “Oh, sh*t, how the heck am I gonna do this!?!”

Lockpicking in oblivion is very easy. just look at the animation.

I really think Oblivion was more fun, exspecially as it wasnt nessesairy (you could just magic it or get many picks and auto try), it was a unique skill; I remember me and my brother trying together to open a very hard lock

Oblivion lock picking is super easy once you get the sound and animation cues down, where as skyrims is just randomly moving the lockpick around until it opens plus in oblivion they had spells to open locks.

_Really_ ought to include Morrowind in this one. In Morrowind you _repeatedly stab the chest/door till it opens._
Skyrim lockpicking is goated though.

I preferred the Oblivion style. With enough practice you can open any door on any level with just one lockpick. In Skyrim you are bound to RNG on some level.

And then there is me with my mage build who can unlock a door with a spell.

Of course, a hard lock vs. a novice lock.

RIP open lock spell in skyrim. Gotta mod the game into an actual RPG

For me it is easier lockpicking in oblivion than skyrim, it was long but I handle. In skyrim I never get the right spot of sounds!

Both games have easy lockpicking.
Oblivion, you just need to pay a little attention to the animation and sound
Skyrim, it gets easy with the right perks (especially unbreakable)

I suggest yall try Morrowind.

Lock picking in oblivion was beautiful, just listening to the sound the lock makes was enough for me, broke into red diamond jewelry and funded like half the thieves guild questline in one go

Oblivion lockpicking is more technical than Skyrim, but more easy too

Oblivion is easy when you figure out the formula.: the pin that falls fastest
Is always followed by the slowest falling pin.

It's a good thing Oblivion has the Skeleton Key, because trying to open Average or harder locks can be very annoying and difficult

skyrim lock picking if you use the mod that shows you the unlock points, actually becomes so easy in vanilla...like once you understand how big the unlock section is it's super easy to find.

oblivion was more of a challenge and i kind of miss it lol
