BMW needs to make more cars like this: 2024 BMW X5 review

We've all heard the whinges: BMWs are too ugly, too expensive and not posh enough. So find out why the £70k BMW X5 is one of the best cars they make. This is the xDrive50e plug-in hybrid, but it packs a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder engine, a luxurious cabin and feels very well made. Could it be peak BMW? Or is it a hint at the lost past?

Peak Rodie bantz. Love your stuff man.
I hate that £100k is coming anywhere near being described as value but I get where you’re coming from.
I’ll add it to my shortlist (of cars I’d like that I can’t afford)

Karman Hardon? Not sure if that was intentional, but this is how they'll be known from now on 😂

I’ve recently swapped from M340d Touring to 2020 X5 30d. I’ve always had my reservations about SUVs but I have been really impressed with the all round package. Very comfortable and great performance for larger vehicle. I will eventually go back to estates once no longer need to cart around 2 kids and a dog on a regular basis

The overshare at the end was illuminating; nonetheless, a great review from a straight up chap.

Wowers & Bilkins has been in all sorts of cars recently!
I still remember my first set, with their gold anodised fluid flux phase corrected tweeters ❤

What’s new : People have been saying BMW’s look bad for over 20 years 🤷🏼‍♂️ Then after the car has been out for a while suddenly people come around and love it. 🤣
Love my electric BMW iX - it’s an amazing car. The tech makes it easy to drive & live with and it’s super quiet in the cabin when driving.

Wow this looks like next level TRDS 👌🏻
BMW chassis ppl have really hit their stride recently. It’s a common theme in reviews recently, just how fantastically they ride and how comfy they are 😮

For everyone shocked at the price, very few people are paying list price for them. The main point of the PHEV is tax savings. My local dealer said he was PCP'ing these to private customers at 12/1300 a month. I've just got one as a company car lease (list price with options £86k), £1100 a month including tax, servicing, insurance, tyres (£300 a go), windscreen damage, the lot. Net cost after tax and BiK: £610 a month. Very good value. Insurance and tax alone would be around £100 a month combined, so the car itself is under £500. Probably what a fully loaded 1 series would be on PCP.

Nice review. What color is this? I think it’s the best one I’ve seen on the X5.

Good video!

Also I'm sure I'll cop it for this, bit I paid 3800 Australian dollars (I'm guessing 2500 pounds) for a great running 3.0l diesel E53. It has some minor issues but it's a fantastic car!

It may be worth considering used prices if you know what you're looking at.

Just my two cents.

I love my X5 50e! It’s the best and most fun, fast, comfortable and luxurious car I’ve ever owned!

You don't have to plug in for Android Auto, even on the pre-LCI models...gearbox on my 45e has never ever been jerky, always a seamless transition between petrol and electric
