Moved to a area of Canada where blueberries grow wild, they are everywhere in late summer and fall. We've tried them everyway from jam, pies, muffins and making wine. Be careful not to over indulge like i did first when roaming the barrens foraging on blueberries they make a great laxative I discovered.

I put those bad boys in organic oatmeal with various combinations of organic apple, raw sunflower seeds, walnuts, peanuts, almonds, cinnamon and bananas for breakfast every other day. Sometimes I use blackberries or strawberries, organic. Particularly strawberries, because they are one of the most pesticide-laced foods there is. So, always go with organic strawberries.

And remember, washing food off has a limited affect in eliminating pesticides. (But thoroughly wash stuff off anyway). That's another good reason to go organic as much as possible. Pesticides seem to relocate themselves in your fat cells and remain there, according to what I've read.

I alternate that breakfast with one featuring eggs, usually soft-boiled, with 'shrooms, peppers, onions, garlic, and sunflower seeds. Sometimes on top of toasted organic whole wheat bread; sometimes I put that concoction on top of another super food - the sweet potato, that I've skinned, sliced up and boiled soft. Everything organic as much as possible.

On top of that, a little fat (butter, olive oil) with Himalayan salt, black pepper and organic turmeric. (Turmeric's bioavailability needs some black pepper and fat).

Pesticides are lethal. Spend the extra $ when you have it for organic. If you can't swing organic, at least go non-GMO, although they can have pesticide contamination as well, sometimes sprayed on as a drying agent. Again, per what I've read. Plus, you want to generally avoid food that has been genetically manipulated.

I've always loved blueberries, but lately, I've been on an extreme blueberry kick. They're easy breezy and just divine. All you do is simply wash them and pop them in yo' mouth. Do not put sugar on them. Just eat them as is.
