On a south is up map, it can look like that all the land is trying to move away from Australia and it makes Africa look like a horses head on its side. Also the south is up map is making it more obvious that the southern hemisphere is mostly ocean. Perhaps people living on land and most of the land being in the northern hemisphere might have contributed to the north is up bias.

Its drawn this way cause it makes using conpass easier

Compass North is attracted to earth south and on a map its easy to just hold your conpass stright north to the front/ top of map while facing south

The Nile flows to earth south pole. For most human history those sround nile saw the "upside " view not the conpass view

Thats said greenwhich was also easy to center which brits took advantage off, others tride to center but lost

There is no up or down in space. If you rotate a map of the world or Google Earth 180 degrees, you would still have an image that would be usable for navigation. Photos of the Earth from the moon with the northern hemisphere at the top being rotated 180 degrees would show you what the Earth would look like from the other hemisphere of the moon. Golf balls, tennis balls, basketballs, cricket balls and footballs (for the UK) are shaped like spheres and nobody specified a right way up for them.
