Majority of my students DON'T listen to Paco de Lucía's music.

I love my students and we often have great discussions together. I just wanted to point this out, and if necessary I might have to do a follow up.

What do you think about this topic?

I’m one of those who absolutely wouldn’t mind really long videos about these types of subjects. That would be very nice also

It’s honestly the opposite for me…I have never really had any connection with Vicente Amigo’s style (although he is a master) but I find in Paco’s compositions a lot of authenticity and inspiration!
Thanks for the video

Paco revolutionised flamenco and paved the way for all the guitarists after him. Vicente exists because of Paco and Manolo

Excellent video topic and a fascinating debate! I’ve had students who say they don’t connect with Paco’s music as much as Vicente Amigo, Diego del Morao, or Antonio Rey. And some even go so far as to argue that they are “better” players than he was. My response is always the same: it’s like admiring modern architecture without fully appreciating the blueprint that made it all possible.

Paco reaches places no other flamenco guitarist has ever reached! There are so many amazing players but I don’t think any have reached such exquisite depths

Beautiful video. You are right - Paco always wanted to be a singer and admitted that he “hid” behind his guitar. In “Luzia” he started singing too as a tribute to Camarón who he loved and respected so much - it was his biggest gift and tribute. A great flamenco percussionist told me he preferred Paco’s singing to Pepe! For me it is always the melodies and songs that appeal to me - I love his Minera beginning and for example the melody in the Tangos from “Luzia”. What a brilliant video you gave us and what an incredible and authentic flamenco musician you are. I hope we meet one day!

I wish I could hit the like button a hundred times. Paco de Lucía was a maestro, but you are fantastic as well and have the same musical accent.

2:24 There's a documentary with Paco saying he always wanted to be a singer, but actually his brother became the singer.

Sirocco was my introduction to flamenco guitar and I was fortunate enough to see Paco play live in 2004; he literally took my breath away and Cositas Buenas is one of my favorite records of his. I've seen Vicente quite a few times now and he was equally as brilliant but a completely different experience. I'm just grateful we have these phenomenal musicians to enjoy and aspire to. Great video maestro. We look forward to your single coming out.

To put it simple "This is when a professional talk". And not just an ordinary professional but a one who can express his understanding and the facts that have been vague to a lot of people.
I love Paco and his melodies and every time I discover new treasures hidden between the notes he played.
I remember that in an interview Paco once said he wanted to be a singer, and now I can understand how he delivered his goal.
Thank you so much Luciano and I'm not exaggerating, but this video shuold be one of the fundamental videos for learning music and especially flamenco

Exactly!! Flamenco is singing and Paco brought that to the guitar. There are no unnecessary decorations or technical show-offs, there's technique and composition to its finest simply expressing flamenco. Very interesting topic and why Paco's falsetas can be heard 100s of times literally and always create different emotions and show new details you would not had heard before.

Please do a massive video about this 😍

I started playing like 13 years ago and played it serious for about 5 years, I actually feel lucky to get the opportunity to chat via facebook with you and Grisha Goryachev. I'm very happy to see your success in flamenco guitar and your grow as a educator-divulgator for flamenco.

Regarding the topic, it also happened to me, more or less the first three years as a guitarist I didn't actually understand Paco's music or Classical musical at all, It didn't connect emotionally. I think it started happening after making some good memories associated with that music and getting more musical technical knowledge to appreciate the work done, I also started appreciating and connecting with classical music as well.

Amazing video. You're absolutely laser-focused on the essence of it.

I studied with Esteban de Sanlúcar in the '70s, and since then I've been constantly blown away by how flamenco guitar has evolved—first with Paco and Manolo Sanlúcar, then with Tomatito and Vicente, followed by Gerardo Núñez and Riqueni.

While I admire the virtuosity of the new generation and truly enjoy their music, I’m starting to question whether we're heading in the right direction. Maybe it’s just age talking—I don't want to come across as a rigid traditionalist—but I can’t help feeling that Paco might have taken us down a different path.

BTW Luciano, I've been following you for a while and I have to tell you that your performance in everything you play is just outstanding. It's perfect. Not a single little fail.
