Wow. I've never used studio one but have been on cubase for decades. It is very obvious where studio one has taken its inspiration from. Looks a lot like cubase.

I've been a studio One guy for a while now. I'm giving myself a Cubase 30 day challenge. I'm on day 3 and Cubase has amazed me compared to Studio One. 🤔

Please continue making this comparison videos between Cubase and Studio One. I'm fed up of general phrases on forums and in reviews like "Studio One is easier, but in Cubase you can do more", and then nobody tells you what is "easier" and what is "more". Glad I found your videos with exact features comparison.

I also did the cross grade purchase plus a little extra off for Studio One 6 Pro. There are some things in Studio One that I prefer over Cubase but not enough for me to use the program as my main DAW. One thing that Cubase has over Studio One that I can't live without is the Re-Record feature. When I'm recording and I make a mistake, I just hit the asterisk key on my num pad and I'm returned to my starting point and what I erroneously played is deleted and I start recording again - that's pure gold to me, LOL. Sure, minor mistakes in midi can easily be edited, but it's a pain fixing big mistakes, especially in audio without the re-record feature. Enjoy using Studio One.

Are you still happy with studio one?? Or have you gone back to cubase!?

One thing about Cubase I didn't like was not being able to vertically zoom in and out with the mouse wheel. Maybe I missed something. Other than that, Cubase is dope.

I swapped to Studio One on crossgrade and ended up going back to Cubase. So been watching these videos with interest.
Hope it works out for you, I think S1 a great DAW but it just ended up being too smooth/slick for me, as odd as that sounds.

Cubase has a more mechanical feel, which I can't even begin to explain, but I just work well in it despite my head preferring S1. I'm going to keep hold of the license though, as it was 40% off via best service. Plus the MIDI Remote in C12 has provided me a really nice setup in regards to controllers which I can't recreate in S1.

One of the differences between the two is notice how the audio gain envelope created by Cubase is a dark blue. It's no longer visible when an event is selected. Depending on the color of the event, you may not even see it. This can lead to mistakes and problems. Studio One has a better UI and stronger contrast.
