Southern State Builders is currently building this house and Jonathan went the extra mile to run a laser across the window grids (muntins) to ensure they were directly in line with the door and continue on to the windows on the other side. These are the types of details you should be getting when you build a custom home. A lot of homes now are being called custom homes but are actually custom builder grade homes, the homeowner is paying custom prices for builder grade material.

As a window and door saleperson for 35 years, I can appreciate the time they took in getting this right! They more than likely ordered the windows and doors before any laser line was laid out

That’s not a builder with OCD, that’s what all builders should be doing 100% of the time. In fact that would be the minimum effort involved to ensure you’re doing your job correctly and not half assed with the “she’ll be right” attitude.

That’s functional—I’d be grateful for the attention to detail communicated by using the level to line up the windows. It might even be specified in the elevation.
